As Indiana's Community Health Network moves toward of "being paid for value," they sought out a partnership with Chicago's VillageMD. According to The Dose, Indiana Business Journal's health care blog, VillageMD will work with Community employees to provide its expertise in contracting, analytics and staffing services.
“We’re focused on how to optimize the patient encounter within the delivery system, but there’s a need to focus outside the CPT codes as well,” said Tim Barry, VillageMD CEO.
The VillageMD joint venture with Community Health Network will operate under the name Primaria Health LLC. Primaria already has 65 former Community employees on staff, with plans to ramp up to 500 in a few years.
