CHICAGO – June 11, 2020 – VillageMD announced today that it has added Jim Agnew, an industry veteran with more than 30 years of leadership experience in healthcare growth and strategy, as senior vice president, corporate development.
In his newly created position, Agnew will lead the development of expansion to new markets in support of VillageMD’s overall growth strategy. He will also manage VillageMD’s merger & acquisition (M&A) sourcing and transaction activities with medical groups across the country. He will be responsible for the formation of new joint ventures and partnerships with health systems and payers to support the needs of primary care groups migrating to value-based care delivery.

Agnew has successfully led teams responsible for the sourcing, evaluation and development of growth strategies, including entry into new markets, M&A and joint ventures.

Prior to joining VillageMD, Agnew served as the vice president of corporate development for Humana, overseeing Humana’s value-based healthcare provider M&A transactions, joint ventures and investments in new market expansion of Humana’s medical group provider business. He also held senior leadership positions with Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and the Bon Secours Health System.
Agnew is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and has served as a recurring guest lecturer at graduate business programs at John Hopkins University, Boston University and Duke University.
